Intel will make the price-cutting to their lower end mainstream quad core processor. Cutting the chip price will be on January 18.
Tech Trader Daily is the first to report this story, quoted Pacific Crest analyst Michael McConnell.
Price-cutting could occur because the Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), which already introduce 45 nanometer processors called Phenom II and Opteron “Shanghai”.
Processors AMD quad-core Phenom II “Dragon” gets a good review. Meanwhile, Shanghai server chip, has been adopted by the server vendors, including Hewlett-Packard, Sun, Dell, IBM, and Fujitsu.
Cutting is done on the Intel quad-core processors. But it is estimated that the cutting will be similar in other types of processors.
